Selfishness and Altruism

Is evolution selfish? Does it make us selfish? Yes and no. Evolution made us the way we are, always mindful of our self-interest, but also usually cooperative, and frequently strikingly altruistic.

Selfish: concerned excessively or exclusively with oneself: seeking or concentrating on one's own advantage, pleasure, or well-being without regard for others.
