====== Stephen Pinker ======

[[wp>Steven_Pinker | Steven Arthur Pinker]] (born September 18, 1954) is a Canadian-American experimental psychologist, cognitive scientist, linguist and popular science author.  He is an important figure in [[analysis:evolution:evolutionary_psychology]].  He largely follows the 1990's consensus from the first wave of evolutionary psychology, which we feel gives insufficient emphasis to [[analysis:social:cultural_evolution]] and the likelyhood that [[analysis:social:coevolution]] resulted in significant genetic change in the past 10,000 years.

He is an articulate commentator on scientific theories of the mind and the human condition, and author of books: [[books:blank_slate]] and [[books:better_angels]].
